Intensive Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor died and three other people were injured.

The assaults come after evenings of air raids in the region, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
